AI Black Friday deals 2026

Updated 2026-07-16 by Michael Okeje · How we verify

Black Friday 2026 is 27 November, Cyber Monday 30 November. No AI Black Friday deals are live yet - it is still months away, and anyone advertising one today is making it up. What we can tell you now is which tools have a real history of discounting, which have never been seen to, and whether waiting is even worth it for the tool you want.

BLACK FRIDAY 2026

November 27, 2026

The honest answer on flagships

The most-searched question here is whether ChatGPT goes on sale for Black Friday. We found no documented evidence that OpenAI, Anthropic or Midjourney has ever run a Black Friday discount on their consumer subscriptions. We are phrasing that precisely: we could not find evidence they have, which is not the same as proof they never will. But if you are holding out for a Black Friday discount on ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro, you are probably waiting for something that has never happened, and paying full price while you wait.

One thing to watch out for: OpenAI has posted about Black Friday, but it was about using ChatGPT to find deals while shopping, not a discount on ChatGPT. Skim-read, it looks like the opposite. You will also see it claimed that Midjourney has publicly stated it never discounts. We could not find any such statement from Midjourney; that claim traces back to an affiliate site rather than the company.

For these tools the real levers exist today: the free tier, a cheaper plan like ChatGPT Go at $8/month, annual billing where it exists, or nonprofit pricing if you qualify. Check the deal pages for what each one actually offers right now.

When AI deals actually go live

Listicles like to tell you deals start in early November. Every vendor-dated case we could verify says otherwise: AI software deals land mid-to-late November, roughly the 17th to the 26th, which is before Black Friday itself, and they run through to around 1-6 December. AppSumo opened on 17 November in 2025, Grammarly's Black Friday page was live by 19 November in 2024, ElevenLabs announced on 26 November in 2024, and Perplexity's ran 25 November to 1 December in 2025.

Two practical consequences. Waiting until Black Friday itself can mean missing a deal that opened a week earlier, and anything advertised as a Black Friday AI deal before mid-November is almost certainly not real.

Most likely to discount

Tools with documented Black Friday or seasonal promotions in past years.

Grammarly

Recurring history
HISTORY
The strongest case of any AI tool. Grammarly runs a dedicated grammarly.com/black-friday page, and archived snapshots show it live in November 2023 and again in November 2024, when it advertised 50% off Grammarly Pro.
EXPECT
A repeat is more likely here than anywhere else on this list. Note that 2025's numbers are genuinely unclear: reports range from 25% to 55% and the archived page redirects, so we are not quoting a 2025 figure.

Annual billing saves ~$216/yr today

AppSumo

Recurring history
HISTORY
Runs a structured annual Black Friday event. In 2025 it was 10% off all deals (19% for Plus members) with daily drops, running 17 November to 2 December.
EXPECT
AppSumo treats Black Friday as a fixture, so expect an event. It stacks on top of already-discounted lifetime deals rather than being a separate sale.

Worth watching

Some evidence of past promotions, but nothing dependable.

ElevenLabs

Did it once
HISTORY
In November 2024 ElevenLabs announced a Black Friday offer taking the Starter plan from $5 to $1 for the first month, running to 2 December.
EXPECT
Worth watching, but note the widely-shared '$1 Starter' post is from 2024, not 2025. Several sites mis-attribute it to the following year. We found no solid vendor evidence for a 2025 repeat.

Descript

Did it once
HISTORY
Ran a Black Friday deal in 2025, then did something unusual: made it permanent. Descript posted that 'people liked our Black Friday deal, so we made it permanent. No countdown timers. No last chance emails.'
EXPECT
Do not wait for a Descript Black Friday. The benefit that was the sale is already baked into the normal annual pricing, so there is nothing to hold out for.
NOW
Annual billing saves ~$96/yr today

Perplexity

Did it once
HISTORY
Between 25 November and 1 December 2025 there was a 50% back offer capped at $50 on a first purchase via PayPal. Read the detail though: this was a PayPal-funded rebate promotion, not Perplexity cutting its own price.
EXPECT
Any repeat depends on a payment partner rather than Perplexity, so it is not something to plan around. Students and educators can get Education Pro at a discount year-round instead.

Annual billing saves ~$36/yr today

Jasper

Did it once
HISTORY
Ran a real Black Friday bundle in 2022, cutting a $2,181 Boss Mode bundle to $990 between 24 November and 1 December. We found no vendor evidence of a Black Friday promotion in 2023, 2024 or 2025.
EXPECT
One documented sale, four years ago, under different pricing and a since-retired plan lineup. Treat a repeat as unlikely rather than expected.

Don't hold your breath

No documented Black Friday discount we could find. Buy on the merits, not on the hope of a November sale.

ChatGPT

No documented history
HISTORY
We found no documented evidence that OpenAI has ever discounted ChatGPT Plus for Black Friday. One thing to be careful of: OpenAI has posted about Black Friday, but that was about using ChatGPT to find deals while shopping, not a discount on ChatGPT itself. It is easy to misread.
EXPECT
Nothing. The real levers are available today: the free tier, the Go plan at $8/month, or nonprofit and business pricing if you qualify.
NOW
New Go plan: paid ChatGPT for $8/month

Claude

No documented history
HISTORY
No documented Black Friday promotion from Anthropic in any year. The only saving we can verify is annual billing, which takes Pro from $20 to about $17 a month and is available all year.
EXPECT
Nothing. Switch to annual billing now rather than waiting, or check the nonprofit price if your organisation qualifies.
NOW
Annual billing saves ~$36/yr today

Midjourney

No documented history
HISTORY
No documented Black Friday promotion in any year. You will see it claimed that Midjourney has publicly stated it never discounts. We could not find any such statement from Midjourney: that claim traces back to an affiliate site, not the company.
EXPECT
Nothing. Annual billing gives 20% off every plan, year-round.
NOW
Annual billing saves ~$24/yr today

GitHub Copilot

No documented history
HISTORY
No documented Black Friday promotion found in any year.
EXPECT
Nothing. Verified students and teachers get the Copilot Student plan free anyway, which beats any plausible sale.
NOW
Copilot Student is free, but new sign-ups are paused

Canva

No documented history
HISTORY
Affiliate sites confidently claim '50% off the first 3 months of Pro' for 2024 and 2025. We could not find a single Canva-owned page or post supporting it, so we are not repeating it.
EXPECT
Unclear. Canva is free for registered nonprofits and for K-12 education, which is worth more than a seasonal discount if you qualify.
NOW
Annual billing saves ~$12/yr today

Writesonic, Copy.ai, Synthesia

No documented history
HISTORY
No vendor evidence for any of them. The claimed figures contradict each other wildly, from 17% to 70% off, depending on which affiliate page you read. Synthesia's own help centre states plainly that it does not offer general discounts.
EXPECT
Treat any specific number you see for these tools before November as invented. If a real deal appears, we will list it here with the source.

Wait for November, or buy now?

Do the arithmetic before you wait. Say a tool costs $30/month and annual billing already saves you 20%. Waiting from July to Black Friday for a hypothetical 40% deal means about four months at full price first. Unless the Black Friday discount is both real and much deeper than the annual rate you can have today, waiting usually loses.

  • Flagship with no discount history (ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney): do not wait. Take the free tier, a cheaper plan, or annual billing now.
  • Tool with a real seasonal-sale history, and you need it now: buy monthly now, then switch to the annual plan during the sale.
  • Tool with a real seasonal-sale history, and you can wait: put it on a shortlist and revisit in mid-November.
  • Any tool you are unsure about: use the free tier until November. It costs nothing to wait when you are not paying.

What to do between now and November

  • Write down the tools you are actually paying for monthly. Those are your upgrade candidates.
  • For each, note the maximum annual price you would pay. Deciding now stops you buying things in November just because they are discounted.
  • Join the email list of any tool you are watching - vendors usually mail their list before they announce publicly.
  • Ignore any 'Black Friday deal' you see before November. The date has not moved.
We check this page as part of a daily verification round and will list real deals here as they go live in November - each one dated and checked against the vendor's own page. For the full background, read the Black Friday and Cyber Monday guide, or see AI lifetime deals which run year-round.
