How to cancel Cursor (and get a refund if you can)
Verified 2026-07-18 by Michael Okeje
Cancel Cursor from the platform you subscribed on, and you keep access until the end of your billing period. Refund window: 14 days if unused (most recent charge only, within 14 days and no usage; overages never refunded). Any usage during the billing period kills your subscription refund - the 'unused' condition is strict.
How to cancel Cursor
Web
- 1Go to cursor.com/dashboard/billing
- 2Click Manage Subscription to open the Stripe portal
- 3Click Cancel Subscription and confirm
Billed through: Web (cursor.com), Apple App Store. You keep paid features until the end of the current billing period, then the account reverts to the free Hobby plan. Cancelling does not delete your account or local files.
Can you get a refund?
Cursor refunds your most recent subscription payment only if both are true: the charge was within the last 14 days and you have not used the subscription during that billing period. Any usage in the period forfeits it. Approved refunds return to your original method in 5 to 10 business days.
Crucially, usage-based or on-demand charges for compute you already consumed are never refundable, and they remain owed even after you cancel. iOS in-app purchases can only be refunded by Apple.
Where to request it: Cursor support (web) or Apple (if bought in the iOS app).

Frequently asked questions
Why is my Cursor bill higher than $20?
Cursor's paid plans include a monthly usage budget; beyond it, on-demand requests bill at API rates. Those overage charges are separate from the $20 and are non-refundable. Set a spend limit or disable on-demand usage in your dashboard to cap it.

Can I get a Cursor refund?
Only your most recent charge, only within 14 days, and only if you did not use the subscription that period. Usage-based charges you already incurred are never refundable.
